4204 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA 23227

The ideal first theatre camp for your preschool aged child! Each morning includes story drama, music, movement and an arts craft. Through literacy based creative drama, campers learn how to use their Performer’s Tools (body, voice, imagination, focus and cooperation). Participants will have an opportunity to share what they learned throughout the week with family and friends on the last day at 11:30 AM.

Health & Safety at Camp

In-person summer camps are back! Covid-19 protocols include regular sanitation of high touch areas, daily temperature checks, smaller class sizes and lower camp capacity. In order to ensure the safety of all participants, all campers and staff are required to provide proof of updated vaccination before the start of camp. Mask wearing is encouraged, but optional for campers. Offering a safe and clean environment for educating your children is our highest priority, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming our patrons and students to the new Virginia Rep Center for Arts and Education.

Instructor

Vivian Schwartz holds a master's degree in Acting from the New School for Drama in New York City as well as a masters in Educational Theater from NYU. Working for over a decade as an actor in New York, Vivian found her love of teaching through the joys of youth-driven theater. She adores young people and believes with all her spirit that theater creates avenues for young people to develop their worldviews, empathy, and become contributing and inclusive community members.

Instructor

Brianna Allen, known to her students as Ms. Bri, is happy to continue her work as Education Assistant and Virginia Rep’s Lead Teaching Artist! When not engrossing herself with Virginia Rep’s educational programming, she works as the Education Assistant at Richmond Performing Arts Alliance (RPAA). She can also be seen around Richmond and surrounding communities as a Greater Richmond Wolf Trap and Disney Musicals in Schools teaching artist. Her passion for engaging with youth to develop their theatrical artistry is at the heart of everything she does.
