Tour / Front of House Internship

2017 - 2018 Season

The Tour / Front of House Intern will gain valuable experience working in a professional theatre environment while performing the following duties:

Tour (2/3)

  • Assist the Arts in Education Manager in booking Hugs and Kisses, our child sexual abuse prevention program.
  • Serve as main contact for the cast of Hugs and Kisses and PCAV (Prevent Child Abuse Virginia)
  • Manage relationships with educators and administrators throughout Virginia
  • Additional projects as assigned

Supervisor: Arts in Education Manager

Front of House (1/3)

  • Prepare and help maintain the front of house for all venues
  • House manage select Virginia Rep productions
  • Represent Virginia Rep at public events when needed
  • Additional projects as assigned
  • Receive training in Tessitura Software

Supervisor: Marketing Associate for House Management Training

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google Drive
  • Personal organization
  • Positive attitude
  • Basic computer literacy (knowledge of Tessitura a plus)
  • Work comfortably and effectively in a diverse, collaborative environment
  • Strong interest in theatre and/or working for a nonprofit organization preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated, adept at multi-tasking and working independently
  • Friendly, professional demeanor
  • Work comfortably and effectively in a diverse, collaborative environment
  • Strong interest in theatre and/or working for a nonprofit organization preferred

General Information:

Duration of Internship: 29, 2017 – May 21, 2018
Compensation: $180/week without Virginia Rep housing; $130/week with Virginia Rep housing
