Richmond Times-Dispatch

In the world of toys, life begins when humans leave the room. When one group of toys discovers a velveteen rabbit, they discover what it means to be truly loved. Adapted from the classic book by Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit tells the story of the unconditional bond between a boy and his toy bunny and the meaning of becoming “real”.

Length: 1 hour
Suggested for ages 3 and up.

Dedication

With affection and respect — and all the whimsy we can conjure — we dedicate this production to the memory of Terry Snyder. Terry designed and built the puppets you will enjoy today. He also designed and built puppets for our productions of The Jungle Book, Stuart Little, Shipwrecked, The Brementown Band, Marley’s Magic Christmas, Three Little Pigs, Christmas ‘Round the World, and The Little Red Hen. His inspired costume designs distinguished our renditions of Seussical, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Into the Woods. Among Richmond- based theatre artists, Terry was one of our true national treasures. His brilliance and his sense of wonder will inspire us forever.
