Virginia Rep is working with KultureCity to offer Sensory Friendly performances for titles on the Arenstein Stage at the November Theatre. These shows aim to provide a safe environment for those with sensory sensitivities, where individuals and families can relax and be their authentic selves.

Adaptations to the performance change depending on the title. However, they may include:

  • Providing lobby space for those patrons who need a break from the show
  • Allowing extra seats in between patrons
  • Allowing snacks and comfort items or toys in the theatre
  • Eliminating any strobe and/or tempering flash lighting
  • Tempering loud, startling noises
  • Keeping a low level of seating light illuminated
