Rush Tickets
Save on last minute tickets. Available from 2 hours before showtime until 15 minutes before showtime. Not available for Children’s Theatre performances. Previews
A preview is a full performance of a new production. The production is finished and ready to be performed, but preview audiences receive a discount and are the first people to enjoy the full production

There is no valet parking available for preview performances.

  • PWYW First Previews: For each first preview performance, tickets will be available pay-what-you-will. Available online or via the box office. First previews are marked on our ticketing site. 
  • Additional Preview Performances: For additional preview performances after the first, all seats are $39. Available online or via the box office. Previews are marked on our ticketing site. 

Military Discount
TCG Member Theatre Virginia Rep welcomes active duty U.S. military personnel and their immediate families and proudly offers a 50% discount off the full price of tickets to many of our shows. We also offer veterans $5 off the full price of tickets. Discounted tickets are limited to 4 per military personnel. Please identify yourself as either active duty military personnel or as a veteran when you purchase tickets by calling (804) 282-2620 or in person at our box office.

Theatre Industry Tickets
Available to theatre performers, educators, creatives, crew, and administrative workers. A limited number of $25 tickets per performance are available to all Signature and Hanover titles. Please call the box office at (804) 282 – 2620 to redeem. Tickets are subject to availability.

College/University Tickets
All active college or grad students from the Commonwealth of Virginia have access to $15 tickets to any Virginia Rep performance with their active student ID card. Please call (804) 282 -2620 or visit the box office to redeem. Please present your ID when picking up your tickets. VCU Theatre students receive two free tickets per production. Tickets are subject to availability.

Teacher Appreciation Program
Elementary, middle and high school teachers, public and private, working in the following areas can register for this program: Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Goochland, Powhatan, Caroline, King & Queen, King George, and Spotsylvania. To register, please send an email from your work address at the school to tickets@virginiarep.org. We will add you to the program or get back to you with any questions within 5 working days.

For eligible performances in the first three weeks of the run, teachers and other educators in Central Virginia’s public and private schools who have registered with us first (see above) will receive one complimentary ticket with the purchase of one full priced ticket when you order by phone or in person.

Limited to one BOGO discount per teacher for the run of each eligible production. Tickets are sold during the first three weeks of performances on an “as available” basis, so please reserve early. Please call ahead at (804) 282-2620 to check a performance’s eligibility for the program, availability of seats, and to purchase. 

 

As part of our commitment to make theatre available to all children and adults, Virginia Rep has launched a Community Tickets Grant program to expand free and discounted ticket access to those in the community for whom the price of a ticket is a barrier. This program replaces our Tickets for Kids program and expands our long-standing policy of offering 10% of our tickets free of charge.

Virginia Rep invites nonprofit community groups to apply for blocks of tickets for groups that they serve. These tickets are for specific performances only. We will keep a waiting list of applicants who would like to be considered for tickets but cannot attend on the designated dates.

Who Can Apply
Nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organizations that serve individuals in the Richmond Metro area who do not have the resources to otherwise attend a show. Each organization can apply for up to 3 performances. Ticket request can be made for up to 25 tickets.

How to Apply
Online applications are due 4 weeks before opening of the show you would like to attend. The application is very simple and based on the organization’s mission, the individuals served, and ability to fully utilize donated tickets. You will be notified about the status of your application 3 weeks prior to the performance date with details on how and when to pick up the tickets.

Rules and Restrictions

  • Virginia Rep will track ticket usage and groups must use at least 80% of the donated tickets in order to participate in future performances.
  • Anyone regardless of age must have a ticket.
  • Tickets cannot be resold or used as auction items at fundraising events. Reselling tickets will be grounds for disqualification. For ticket donations for events please see Tickets for Local Fundraising.
  • Tickets are for the designated performance only and cannot be exchanged.
  • A representative from the organization must pick up the tickets at least 1 day prior to the performance.

Virginia Rep is delighted to offer ticket vouchers to area nonprofits to assist in their fundraising efforts. Each year we give away hundreds of tickets to worthy organizations in Central Virginia to support their missions and our community.

Eligibility
We accept requests for donations to local fundraising events held by registered nonprofit organizations in and around Richmond and Hanover, Virginia.

Make a request
Due to the high volume of requests we receive, please follow the guidelines below, and send your request well before your deadline, so that we’re better able to process donations in time for your event.

  • All request should be sent by email to our box office manager, Janine Sears, at jsears@virginiarep.org.
  • Attach a one page request on organizational letterhead with the purpose and date of the event, and the address to which ticket vouchers should be mailed.
  • Please include any donation forms Virginia Rep needs to fill out.

Voucher seating is subject to availability. For performances that already have a high volume of sales, vouchers may not be accepted. Voucher recipients should reserve their seats early.
