Virginia Repertory Theatre
4204 Hermitage Road
Students and parents will receive an introduction to performance and get to experience and explore their stage presence, playing with an ensemble, and taking direction from a Teaching Artist. It’s a fun way to dip a toe into the world of performance at a young age. Taught by Gracie Berneche
Vivian Schwartz holds a master's degree in Acting from the New School for Drama in New York City as well as a masters in Educational Theater from NYU. Working for over a decade as an actor in New York, Vivian found her love of teaching through the joys of youth-driven theater. She adores young people and believes with all her spirit that theater creates avenues for young people to develop their worldviews, empathy, and become contributing and inclusive community members.
Gracie Berneche is the Education Assistant at Virginia Rep and an actor in the Richmond community. With a BFA in Musical Theatre from VCUarts, she brings both performing and teaching expertise to her work. Gracie has extensive experience working with students of all ages, but is especially dedicated to inspiring a love of theatre in young people. Believing that theatre plays a crucial role in emotional development, she is committed to creating educational experiences that foster creativity, confidence, and collaboration. She hopes to make theatre a safe and accepting space for her students to call home.
