For rising 7th-12th graders , $675 per camper

Each day, participants will rotate through performance courses, allowing students to connect with one another and their instructors to build a strong and dynamic ensemble.Past courses have included: Acting, Singing, Dancing, Improv, Film-making, Clowning, Stage Combat, and Storytelling on Stage. These courses are provided by working professionals in the theatre industry. Participants are encouraged to participate in a mock audition in front of Virginia Rep casting directors to receive helpful feedback. The Young Performers Institute Camp is packed with rigor, but is fun for young performers.

The price of tuition includes a ticket for a performance of Virginia Rep’s mainstage summer musical!

Vivian holds a master’s degree in Acting from the New School for Drama in New York City as well as a masters in Educational Theater from NYU. Working for over a decade as an actor in New York, Vivian found her love of teaching through the joys of youth-driven theater. She adores young people and believes with all her spirit that theater creates avenues for young people to develop their worldviews, empathy, and become contributing and inclusive community members.

Gracie is the Education Assistant at Virginia Rep and an actor in the Richmond community. With a BFA in Musical Theatre from VCUarts, she brings both performing and teaching expertise to her work. Gracie has extensive experience working with students of all ages, but is especially dedicated to inspiring a love of theatre in young people.
