Barefoot in the Park is the breezy charmer that etched Neil Simon’s name in Broadway history. We’re excited to reprise this show (presented in 2005) at the Hanover Tavern stage for the holidays! Our previous run attracted sold-out crowds and left the Tavern bursting with merriment.
The comedy centers around two young newlyweds in a dilapidated fifth-floor walk-up in New York City as they learn to adjust to each other. Corie is an effervescent free spirit. Paul, her polar opposite, is conservative, grounded and somewhat overwhelmed by his new wife’s joie de vivre. Everything comes to a comic head when Corie sets up a blind date between her dour mother and their exotic neighbor, Victor Velasco. The evening leaves Corie and Victor energized; her mother and Paul exhausted. Will they kiss and make up?
