Sensory Friendly Performances
Virginia Rep is working with KultureCity to offer Sensory Friendly performances for titles on the Arenstein Stage at the November Theatre.
Open to all to attend, these performances aim to provide a safe environment for those with sensory sensitivities, where individuals and families can relax and be their authentic selves.
Adaptations to this performance may include:
- Providing lobby space for those patrons who need a break from the show
- Allowing extra seats in between patrons
- Allowing snacks and comfort items or toys in the theatre
- Eliminating any strobe and/or tempering flash lighting
- Tempering loud, startling noises
- Keeping a low level of seating light illuminated
- It is expected that patrons may move or vocalize during the performance.
Our next sensory adaptive performance is The Play that Goes Wrong on October 7, 2026 at 7 PM.
