For the 2026/2027 season, Virginia Rep is working with KultureCity to offer Sensory Adaptive performances for titles on the Arenstein Stage at the November Theatre. These shows aim to provide a safe environment where individuals and families can relax and be their authentic selves. We welcome all those who may benefit from the following adaptations,

Adaptations to the performance change depending on the title. However, they may include:

  • Providing lobby space for those patrons who need a break from the show
  • Allowing extra seats in between patrons
  • Allowing snacks and comfort items or toys in the theatre
  • Eliminating any strobe and/or tempering flash lighting
  • Tempering loud, startling noises
  • Keeping a low level of seating light illuminated
  • It is expected that patrons may move or vocalize during the performance
  • Social stories outlining what to expect upon arrival and during the show
  • Sensory kits and single use earplugs are available at the box office (available at all times)
