During the lockdown, Virginia Rep turned to the power of community, connection and creativity to keep working on your behalf.
We reached out to families to see what learning tools and videos would best support you when children are home, and created a variety of content to meet those needs.
The Education Department is thrilled to share online activies! It is a privilege to offer our community a virtual space for creation and connection as we build a foundation that supports the theatrical skills of young performers everywhere. We look forward to supplying this new and exciting content for our patrons and students of the arts.
Currently we offer short videos for K-5 students.
We're bringing fairy tales to life with local actors telling the stories each Saturday evening on video. The stories are appropriate for children ages 4 - 8. Virginia Rep Tour Manager and actor extraordinaire Gordon Bass (The Cake Richmond Triangle Players) introduces each story from his antique chair, just like Alistair Cooke on PBS. Austin Lewis is our videographer.
