Dedication

Roy burgess and Kweli LeapartWith unending respect and affection, this production of Mame is dedicated to the memories of Roy Burgess and Kweli Leapart. Roy was Board President of Barksdale Theatre in the mid-1990s, a singer/actor in the ensembles of musicals at Barksdale and TheatreVirginia, and a Richmond theatre aficionado second to none. His exhaustive treasury of original cast albums and theatre posters is a core collection in Virginia Rep’s McAuley Kilgore Theatre Library. Kweli starred in Theatre IV’s productions of A Raisin in the Sun (winning a Best Actress Phoebe Award), Do Lord Remember Me and Having Our Say. Both artists were cornerstones of Central Virginia’s theatre community. They are greatly missed.
