When a particle collider deep beneath the earth’s surface malfunctions, a mysterious woman appears. She cannot say where she’s from or how she got here; she only knows that she is a poet. But when she gives voice to her strange and beautiful poems, reality itself begins to ripple and shift, becoming eerily unreliable. To the physicists, she’s an intriguing mystery; to the authorities, she’s a threat. Could both be right? Unravel the riddle of the poet in this exciting new play.

Dedication: Frank Fuller

Frank FullerWith great affection and respect, we dedicate this production to the memory of Frank Fuller. In 1974, our co-founder Bruce Miller was named Cultural Arts Director of Southampton County Public Schools. Bruce worked under a grant funded federally, and administered by the Virginia Dept. of Education. Among Bruce’s Richmond supervisors was the English specialist for the VDOE, Frank Fuller. Frank was exactly whom every wet-behind-the-ears recent theatre grad would want as his first boss. Frank had fallen in love with poetry while a midshipman in the US Navy, and become captivated by theatre while an English professor at Bridgewater College. In 1974, Frank was fully ready to mentor an equally smitten arts grad, and lead him through the rigors of employment in Virginia education. When Bruce decided that being a federal grant administrator wasn’t his true calling, and chose to leave his job to start a theatre called Theatre IV, Frank was fully supportive. He even encouraged Bruce to one day look up his talented actor son, David, who would, years later, take as his stage surname the name of his father’s college. In our earliest days, Frank Fuller kept our dreams alive, all the while being about the kindest man who ever lived. He personified for us what comes After December. We will forever value his irreplaceable friendship and support.
