A preview is a full performance of a new production that is about to open. The production is finished and ready to be performed, but it is unpolished. Having previews allows us to polish the performance for two days prior to presenting the production to the critics. When we produce a play, the audience plays a major role in the process. Preview audiences are the very first people to see and enjoy the full, finished production.
By observing and interacting with the response and reactions of preview audiences, we are able to make the minor adjustments that we’d like to make before appearing before the critics. In this way, the two preview audiences play a major role in the creation of the final production. Because they are part of the process, many preview audience members especially enjoy the preview experience.
Tickets to preview performances are discounted. Individual show pages list preview dates, where applicable, and preview pricing.
